Leucemia/Linfoma de Células T do Adulto no Interior da Bahia: Relato de Caso

Resumo

A leucemia/linfoma de células T do adulto (ATLL) é uma neoplasia de células T periféricas causada pelo HTLV-1, mais comum em regiões endêmicas como Japão, Caribe e América Latina. Este relato descreve o caso fatal de um paciente do sexo masculino no estado da Bahia, Brasil. A ATLL é uma doença agressiva com prognóstico desfavorável, diagnosticada por sorologia para HTLV-1 e análise hematológica. O tratamento inclui quimioterapia combinada e antirretrovirais, mas a resposta geralmente é insatisfatória. Este caso destaca a importância do diagnóstico precoce e de tratamentos direcionados. É essencial desenvolver protocolos de tratamento mais eficazes e estudos longitudinais para melhor compreender e manejar a doença.
